GWT Conference: Bruce Johnson’s Tour of GWT Core Libraries

For someone who has browsed the GWT site at all, this was pretty old hat. Not that I'm knocking the talk, but this was targeted to the beginner in the audience.

Some quotes from Bruce:

"It is very easy to write a framework where everyone can use certain libraries, but only elite developers can modify it. With GWT we try to do the really tricky stuff just a little bit at a time and then build up the rest of the framework from those things."

"To those people who say 'I don't like the way a particular widget works," my response is that they should get 85% of the value that they can out of the rest of GWT, and then write their own version of that one widget."
