Usable Ajax examples
Over at Seomoz.org, Fluxx offers five real world Ajax tools that make web sites more usable, rather than just bieng there for the coolness effect...
1. In Place Submission (A good use of Ajax in place submission the Newsletter Subscription form on our home page)

3. Sliders and Other Controls
4. Draggable Content
5. Suggestions
The key to usefull Ajax, in his opinion, is that it doesn't substitue for content, but compliments it.
When used correctly, AJAX is a very nice tool in the web developers arsenal. It allows quick and easy completion of repetitive tasks, complete customization of a site's layout by a user, and offers helpful suggestions. Just remember the golden rule: content. Without it, you're just stringing pearls on a manatee.
