Cognitive Load in Java Programming

A reader made me aware of this research paper investigating the subject of cognitive load and OOAD. It's entitled Roboworld: Overcoming the Problem of Cognitive Load in Object-Oriented Programming by Microworlds. That's a mouthful. It's not a short read, but some concepts like reducing split attention -- keeping related information together, visually -- are useful in the context of webapp IDE's and frameworks.
