Pathfinder Sponsors Chicago’s World Usability Day and Showcases Customer Success and Healthcare Expertise
Chicago, IL. (November 6, 2007) – Pathfinder Development is a sponsor of World Usability Day in Chicago, taking place on November 8, 2007 at the Hotel Intercontinental. This represents the third annual global event designed to raise awareness of the importance of usability, focusing specifically on healthcare applications.
“Millions of people around the world continue to struggle with technology, when technology should be making their lives easier” said Bernhard Kappe, Managing Director of Pathfinder Development. “We are proud to sponsor this event dedicated to solving the technology problems people encounter everyday, especially as it relates to healthcare.”
Pathfinder will be presenting a case study featuring one of their healthcare clients, Haemonetics Software Solutions® and leader in medical software and support. The presentation will outline the success of incorporating user experience design to create Haemonetics Software Solutions’ next generation of product offerings.
As part of the engagement, Pathfinder designed a critical application for a handheld device. When asked about user acceptance, Susan McBride of Haemonetics Software Solutions responded, "You know it really works. We laugh about it - we don't even have to demo it, they just take it out of your hands and start using it."
“Working with Haemonetics Software Solutions was a very rewarding experience,” said Matt Nolker, Director at Pathfinder and co-presenter. “Taming the complexity of critical blood bank applications and making them easier to use impacts everyone and can truly make the difference between life or death.”
Pathfinder will also be leading an interactive session, designed to address one of the biggest technology issues in healthcare today. Entitled “Interacting with Software and People – At the Same Time”, the session will examine ways for healthcare practitioners to communicate simultaneously, with patients and technology, without sacrificing attentive personal care.
